Employment as a PhD student in chemistry, within the discipline of biochemistry, with placement at the Division of Biochemistry, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science. The employment is financed by the Research School in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Project Description:
The goals are to reach a molecular understanding of protein aggregation and fibrillation process through studies of kinetics and equilibrium using optical, calorimetric and surface force measurements and the influence of intrinsic (sequence variants) and extrinsic factors such as salt, pH, temperature, viscosity, turbulent flow, other proteins, surfaces, metal ions, metabolites, drug candidates.

Qualifications:
Master of science in chemistry, chemical engineering or biotechnology (240 credits). Basic courses in intermolecular interactions and thermodynamics are required, and courses in biophysical chemistry are desired. Documented laboratory work in protein chemistry/biochemistry.

Those who hold an educational stipend or a doctoral student appointment must first be accepted for postgraduate study. To be accepted, a student must be judged to have the competence necessary to complete a course of postgraduate study.

In addition to pursuing postgraduate studies, the doctoral student may also perform other duties - including research, teaching and administration – according to the specific regulations.
