Finland : DOCTORAL STUDENT required at Centre for Drug Research, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Helsinki

Faculty of Pharmacy, Centre for Drug Research, invites applications for a DOCTORAL STUDENT for a period of three years from the begin of the 1st of March 2010 (or as otherwise agreed)
 
The work includes development of screening technologies based on bioluminescent bacterial strains for studying natural products as a source of antimicrobial compounds.
 
The work is carried out at the Centre for Drug Research, Faculty of Pharmacy, in Viikki Biocenter, University of Helsinki, and includes collaboration with the Department of Chemistry and Bioengineering, Tampere University of Technology. The project is funded by the Research Funds of the University of Helsinki.
 
The applicant should have a MSc degree and a background in the fields of e.g. pharmaceutics, biochemistry, microbiology or biotechnology. Previous experience in the field of screening technologies is preferred.
 
The salary for the present post will be based on level 1-4 of the demands level chart for teaching and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities, and the job-specific component of the salary will thus be EUR 1 643-2 241 per month. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal work performance.
