Denmark : 3 year postdoc position in Experimental Physics (High Energy Nucleus-Nucleus Collisions)

The DISCOVERY center for particle physics, announces a 3 year position, with emphasis on the study of high energy of proton-proton and nucleus-nucleus collisions with the ALICE experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (CERN).
 
The position will be open from March 1, 2010 and is announced as a fixed term 3 year position at the level of post.doc (assist. prof.).
 
Applicants are expected to have an independent and international research profile in experimental high energy nuclear physics which can strengthen and develop the analysis and understanding of data from ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions from ALICE. A particular focus in the first years  is to coordinate and develop the analysis of multiplicity and flow physics data collected with the Forward Multiplicity Detector and other detectors in ALICE. Prior international experience with these topics and with ALICE is highly preferable.
 
The successful candidate is expected to take an active and outgoing part in the overall activities of the DISCOVERY center, notably to advance the collaboration and scientific synergy among the experimental and theoretical activities of the center, which include p+p physics with the ATLAS experiment, p+p and A+A physics with the ALICE experiment, theory/phenomenology and cosmology. Significant travel activity, notably to CERN, must be anticipated.

  • A complete list of publications indicating a maximum of 10 papers of particular relevance.
  • Letters of reference and other material.
