Norway : Post-doctoral research fellowship (SKO 1352)-Department of Educational Research

There is one vacant post-doctoral position within the project “Multiple-Documents Literacy: Understanding, Assessing, and Improving Students’ Learning from Conflicting Information Sources”, funded by the Norwegian Research Council. This project is conducted within the framework of one of the research groups at the Faculty of Education (Text comprehension: Development, Instruction, and Multiple texts: link)

Applicants must prepare a project proposal concerning how multiple-documents literacy may be effectively promoted in secondary school. Further information about the part of the project that will be the main responsibility of the post doctoral fellow recruited to the project is included in the general project description, which may be obtained upon request.

Appointment to the position is for 2 years.

The place of work will be determined upon appointment, and is contingent upon the professional content of the project and affiliation with the project team.

An online application must be written in English. Applicants must attach a project proposal, including a time schedule for the qualifying work as well as copies of educational certificates, letters of recommendation and a list of reference persons. We also ask that the applicants attach a complete list of publications and all academic work that the applicant wishes to be considered by the evaluation committee, preferably as PDF files.

When considering the application, the quality of the project proposal and relevance of the proposed project are particularly important, along with the quality of previous education, publications, and the ability to work independently and in a team. Importance will also be placed on the professional and personal qualities needed to complete the project and to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the relevant area.

Interviews may be conducted with selected applicants.

The University of Oslo has an agreement regarding acquisition of rights to work results for all employees, with the aim to secure rights to research results etc.

According to the Norwegian Freedom of Information Act (offentleglova) information about the applicant may be included in the public applicant list, even though the applicant has requested non disclosure.
