Doctoral studies and research in mathematics, especially differential geometry 80% Undergraduate education 20%

Eligibility/Entry Requirements
General requirements for postgraduate studies are a master's degree of at least 240 ECTS and at least 60 of those on an advanced level.


Specific requirements for postgraduate studies in mathematics are at least 120 ECTS credits in mathematics and at least 50 of those on

an advanced level. A master’s thesis of 30 ECTS must be included. Courses on differential geometry are highly desirable.

Basis of Assessment

Regulations concerning appointment as a full PhD student can be found in SFS 1998:80.
Those who hold a doctoral student appointment must first be accepted for postgraduate study. The candidate will be selected from among the qualified applicants based on ability to carry out postgraduate studies.In addition to pursuing postgraduate studies, the doctoral student may also perform other duties - including research, teaching and administration – according to the specific regulations.
