CZECH REPUBLIC : PHD SCHOALARSHIP FROM THE TOMAS BATA UNIVERSITY IN ZLIN CZECH REPUBLIC FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2011-2012

You are hereby informed about a unique offer intended for talented international applicants who wish to pursue their Ph.D. studies in the English language at Tomas Bata University in Zlín (TBU), Czech Republic, from the academic year 2011/2012.

 Tuition fee

EUR 2,500 / 1 academic year (Faculty of Technology)

EUR 1,500 / 1 academic year (Faculty of Management and Economics)

EUR 1,500 / 1 academic year (Faculty of Applied Informatics)

PhD scholarship

TBU scholarship: CZK 8,000 / 1 month (EUR 320)

Available for full-time students only! Scholarships are intended for the best students only (depending on their previous study results and the entrance exam results)

TBU scholarship for talented students: CZK 15,000 / 1 month (EUR 600). Available for full-time students only! Those applicants are eligible for an extraordinary scholarship amounting to EUR 600 per month who submit their application for Ph.D. studies at TBU to the TBU International Office before the end of June 2011 and are selected by the TBU Committee depending on their previous academic performance and research activities.

Government Scholarship (see information on the web page of the Czech Embassy in your home country)

Addition information

TBU will cover 1 flight ticket from the student’s home country to the Czech Republic at the beginning of the Ph.D. programme and 1 flight ticket from the Czech Republic to the student’s home country after completing the 3- or 4-year programme (depending on the accreditation). All international students will also have a possibility to attend a Czech course free of charge.

Applicant covers:

a) Tuition fee

b) Living costs (accommodation in double rooms in the University Halls of Residence and meals from the Uni. Refectory) - approx. EUR 200 / 1month.

c) Medical insurance (Czech health insurance) – approx. EUR 720 / 1 year.

d) Travel and visa expenses / any additional costs that may occur due to student’s private needs.
