Location: University of Brescia, Brescia, Italy

Tenure: Three years

Scholarships: 2 (tuition fee exempted)

Net Salary: 1035€ per month

Official language: Italian and English.

A PhD scholarship is available for two highly motivated students with an excellent academic record who would like to research oxide nanomaterials for thermoelectrics and optoelectronics. Applicants should have obtained (or will obtain by the 31/12/2011) the Master of Science degree (MSc). The successful candidates will be primarily based at Department of Chemistry and Physics Sensor Laboratory (http://sensor.ing.unibs.it) and will be involved in preparation and functional characterisation of oxide nanowire based devices for

·        Thermoelectrics in the frame of the project Metal oxide NANOwires as efficient high-temperature THERmoelectric Materials NANOTHER (ISTITUTO ITALIANO DI TECNOLOGIA BANDO SEED 2009) see http://sensor.ing.unibs.it/?page_id=70

·       Light Emitting Devices in the frame of the project Oxide Materiale Towards a Matured Post-Silicon Electronics Era ORAMA (EC FP7-NMP-2009-LARGE-3) see http://sensor.ing.unibs.it/?page_id=1470
