Netherlands : PhD Student-Structural Transformation to Achieve Gender Equality in Science'

Sponsored Links

The PhD project is part of an EU-funded project of the Nijmegen School of Management conducted in cooperation with four other European research institutions. The aim of the project is to gain insight into the dynamic change processes in gender relations in research institutions and to stimulate organizational learning regarding gender equity. Participatory research methods are used to achieve both knowledge development and structural transformation. Issues to be examined and supported are the use of work-life arrangements, mentoring schemes, integration of a gender dimension in teaching programmes, networking and the implementation of target figures. Your duties will include designing and conducting research and interventions, project-related training and a limited amount of teaching. We expect you to present your research at international conferences and to publish the results in high-quality scientific journals. The research should result in a PhD thesis.

Work environment
The Institute for Management Research (IMR) is an academic centre of expertise conducting research on the structure and performance of public and private organizations and institutions that regulate, govern and manage purposive action and interaction. The Nijmegen School of Management at Radboud University Nijmegen has incorporated all its research in IMR. IMR research aims to contribute to the understanding and improvement of the effectiveness, efficiency and legitimacy of organizational arrangements through which people try to structure and govern the complexity of the environments in which they operate. Experts from various domains - ranging from political science, public administration, geography, planning and environmental science, and economics to business administration – study the complexity and performance of various companies and institutions. IMR’s aim is to combine and integrate theoretical perspectives from different disciplines in order to provide a richer understanding of international, societal and organizational phenomena, their complexity and their interrelatedness. This broad and integrated perspective allows IMR to distinguish itself and to be a visible player in the international arena.
IMR currently has three research programmes:
DisCon: Distributional Conflicts in a Globalizing World: Consequences for State-Market-Civil Society Arrangements
ResOrg: Responsible Organization
SCAPES: Shaping and Changing of Places and Spaces

What we expect from you
You have completed a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a field related to the Institute for Management Research (IMR) disciplines mentioned below. A successfully completed Research Master’s programme and demonstrable experience in scientific research and intervention methods is highly desirable.
