The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg has an opening for a Doctoral Candidate (PhD Student) (M/F) in the research area financial audit
3-year fixed term contract, 40 hours/week, starting date: 1 May 2012
Ref: F2R-CRE-PUL-12AUDI (to be mentioned in all correspondence)
The doctoral candidates will be working with the supervisor and additional researchers on a specific research project.
The research project follows an interdisciplinary approach, i.e. it is situated at the intersection of sociology and financial accounting/audit. Therefore, we expect candidates to have a strong background either in sociology or in financial audit.
Your Role
•Working on a specific, predefined research project.
•Preparing a doctoral thesis. The topic is related to the research project.
•Assisting the professor in teaching activities and in establishing a Master’s degree programme in accounting and audit.
•Contributing to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.
Your profile
•Master’s degree, “Diplom” or equivalent degree in sociology; evidenced research interest in financial audit.
•Alternatively, Master’s degree, “Diplom” or equivalent degree in business administration/management with a specialization in financial accounting/audit; evidenced interest in applying and training in theories of sociology.
•Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in English, good understanding of second language and possibly a third language, German in particular, will be considered an advantage.
