Sweden : PhD position in Classical archaeology and Ancient History

Uppsala University hereby declares the following position to be open for application:

PhD position in Classical archaeology and Ancient History

at the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History from February 1st, 2012.

Post-graduate training encompasses four years. The first years is financed through a stipend and the three subsequent years with a position as a doctoral student. PhD students are expected to study full-time and to actively participate in the activities of the department. Administrative or teaching duties up to 20% at the department may be included, in which case the employment period will be extended.

The successful applicant should also be able to adequately utilise Greek and Latin source material as well as scientific texts in modern languages. In addition, specialization in certain fields assumes knowledge of modern Greek, Italian and/or other languages and disciplines.

The application should include copies of an undergraduate/Master paper, a brief CV, a research plan of c. 3-6 pages, any publications as well as other relevant documents.
