Doctoral candidate (PhD student) in “Text Mining / Financial News” (M/F)

Your Role

The successful candidate will contribute to research on massive text collections (Thomson Reuters Financial News, New York Times Corpus) and perform a research work in sentiment analysis, topic detection, or another field related to Text Mining. Knowledge in the financial domain is a plus but not a must. The candidate’s mission is to perform a PhD thesis in this field and to disseminate the research results through scientific publications. The selected candidate will establish scientific contacts to external researchers and groups and assist the teaching activities of the research group.

Your Profile
  • A Master degree/Diploma in Computer Science or Linguistics or equivalent.
  • An excellent background in at least 2 of the following 4 fields: Text Mining, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Information Retrieval.
  • Excellent skills in at least one programming language.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills.
