The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg has an opening for

1 Doctoral candidate (PhD student) in international private law (M/F)

  • Ref: F2-080024 (to be mentioned in all correspondence)
  • 3-year fixed-term contract, renewable once (up to a total of 4 years maximum), 40h/week.

The assistant will be working within the research unit of law. The assistant is expected to contribute to research projects in the area of private international law in general, and also in comparative law.

Your Role
  • The candidate’s main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis in the the field of private international law, under the supervision of Professor Cuniberti. The thesis has to be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg but can also be part of a joint supervision with another university.
  • Contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.

Your Profile
  •  Master’s degree in private international law, international litigation and arbitration
  •   Language skills sufficient to work in a multilingual environment, i.e. fluency in at least two of the three working languages (French, German and English) is a prerequisite; understanding of the third will be considered an advantage. Given that most courses are taught in French the applicant must be able to teach in this language
  • Skills in another social science (economics, political science, etc…) would be an advantage.
