The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg has an opening for

1 Doctoral candidate (PhD student) in Economics (M/F) with a specialization in applied microeconomics.

  • Fixed- term 14 months initial contract, extendable to 36 months
  • Full-time position, 40h/week.
Your Role
  • The doctoral candidate will be working within the Research Unit of CREA (Centre for Research in Economics and Management). The doctoral candidate is expected to contribute to research projects on the general topic of “the Allocation of Talent”.
  • The candidate’s main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of Economics under the supervision of Professor Arnaud DUPUY. The thesis has to be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg but can also be part of a joint supervision with another university.
  • Contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.

Your Profile
  •  The candidate will have a Master’s degree or equivalent in economics.
  •  A special interest in labour economics, family economics and/or sports economics and a strong background in microeconom(-etr)ics are highly desirable.
  • Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in English, good command of French, and/or German, will be considered as an advantage.
