4-year PhD Student Position:
High-resolution spectroscopy of carbon nanotubes and their hybrid structures
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory - University of Antwerp - Antwerp - Belgium
Within the framework of ERC Starting Grant ‘ORDERin1D’ of supervisor Sofie Cambré, the Experimental Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory (ECM) of the University of Antwerp (Belgium) has a vacancy for a full-time PhD student in the field of high-resolution spectroscopy of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and their hybrid structures that are synthesized by filling the CNTs with functional molecules.
Research context: The ECM group has made several important breakthroughs in the processing, spectroscopic characterization, filling and sorting of CNTs. Particularly important to this project is the high-resolution spectroscopic characterization of the filling of CNTs, with state-of-the-art optical and spectroscopic equipment, such as tunable wavelength resonant Raman scattering spectroscopy and wavelength-dependent fluorescence spectroscopy and imaging, and innovative processing and separation techniques.
Starting date: 2016 (Start date as soon as possible, in agreement with the candidate)
