The Institute of Biophysics of the Italian National Research Council seeks applicants for a position in Computational Neuroscience in the laboratory of Michele Migliore (Palermo, Italy). We are seeking extremely motivated individuals to work in a highly collaborative project aiming at building a community and data driven realistic model of the hippocampus.

The project involves the implementation of cellular and circuit level simulations, model validation, and the development of tools/applications to foster the engagement of the experimental and modelling community.  A Master or PhD in Physics, Informatics, Computational Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field is required. The ideal candidate will have an interdisciplinary research background with prior experience in using the NEURON simulation environment. Working knowledge of python is a must. The position is funded by the EU Human Brain Project. Salary follows the National Research Council scale for pre or post-doctoral status and is based on experience.
