Denmark : DTU Management Engineering is inviting applicants for two PhD scholarships

DTU Management Engineering is inviting applicants for two PhD scholarships within the Department’s research fields. The funding is provided by the Department and successful candidates are expected to start during first quarter of 2010.

We are looking for highly qualified candidates with a clearly defined and focused interest in research to join our committed staff of approx. 65 PhD students and 130 faculty members.

The PhD project should be of relevance to the research of one or more of the Department’s sections. Please find further information on our homepage www.man.dtu.dk.

Conditions and terms
Successful candidates must hold an MSc degree in a relevant area and be able to show proof of outstanding academic achievements. We also expect applicants to have discussed their research project with a potential supervisor from the Department.

The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval by the University’s PhD Committee, and the candidates will be enrolled in the PhD School at DTU Management Engineering.

The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD degree students. The period of employment is 3 years.

• Letter of application including the candidate’s motivation for applying
• A department recommendation and evaluation form (institutudtalelse) filled in by your supervisor (not signed by Head of Department)
• Thorough project description (2 to 5 pages), including:
  • clear objective of the project
  • brief description of choice of theory and methodology
  • novelty value
  • project’s relation to the Department’s research
• Authorised copies of diplomas of university degrees all translated into English
• Candidate’s curriculum vitae
• Authorised evidence of English language competence (only apply for non-Danish citizens).
