Postdoctoral Position

The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) group of the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology Jena is looking for a postdoctoral researcher for a project on NMR-based micrometabolomic and fluxomic analysis of lignan biosynthetic pathways in plants, especially developing linseeds. A good background in NMR spectroscopy and other disciplines of analytical natural product chemistry, expertise in applying multivariate analyses, and some skills in microscopic techniques are advantageous. Interest in biological issues and interdisciplinary cooperativeness are essential for successful research in this project.

Candidates should have a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, or physics. Subject to an external grant approval, the position will be available from January 01, 2010. The position will be granted for an initial period of one year, with a possibility of later extension up to 2 more years.
