Doctoral student in Business Administration with placement at the Department of Business Administration.

The initial appointment is for one year, which is then renewed for no more than two years at a time. The position is limited to a maximum of four years effective time, which is the expected time required to complete the doctoral programme at the Department of Business Administration.

Qualifications and selection criteria
The applicant must hold either a master’s degree or have completed 240 ECTS credits of university studies of which at least 60 should be at the advanced level (master’s level). Furthermore, we require at least 90 ECTS credits in Business Administration and the applicant must have completed one or two thesis equivalent to 30 ECTS credits (at least 15 ECTS credits must be in business administration).

The application must include a research plan where the applicant presents his/her own ideas for a research topic. The applicant must also have a good command of spoken and written English.

Assessment of the application is based on the following:
- Academic results, particularly on the master’s level.
- Bachelor’s and master’s theses (with special importance attached to the master’s thesis).
- Relevance and viability of the research plan.
- Other results and distinctions on the bachelor’s and master’s levels which attest to the applicant’s ability to profit from the doctoral programme.


Being a doctoral student at the Department of Business Administration
The PhD programme in Business Administration at Lund University is a four-year programme for a doctoral degree. The doctoral degree consists of two parts, courses (90 ECTS credits) and a thesis (150 ECTS credits). As a doctoral student you will mainly be working with your research project, but you can also be given more general tasks at the department, e.g. teaching, research or administrative work, in accordance with the regulations. Rules for employment as a Doctoral
student are stated in "The Higher Education Ordnance (SFS 1998:80), Chapter 5".
